This is the first lesson in my list.  Someone, somewhere, needs you and without that compelling reason there is little point in going on. Of course, you too need someone. We have evolved into a social animal and for us, at least, that means interaction from cradle to grave. That old refrain “You’re nobody till somebody loves you”  is more than just a catchy crooner’s tune.  It is what sustains us. There is certainly a survival prerogative involved since we are born so helpless and vulnerable. Without that maternal/paternal care we would become fodder in quick order and the species would snuff out like a candle in a hurricane.

So make no mistake.  Somebody, somewhere needs you
